Description | Photograph of Adolph J. Schliesser in his military uniform in Warren, Arizona. Schliesser has his back turned to the camera looking at another man sleeping in a tent. Another man identified as Dr. Murphy stands on the right. Schliesser was the first pastor of the Lutheran Church in Missouri to be appointed into the Army as a Chaplain. Schliesser served as a Chaplain for German prisoners of war during World War I, and saw military service on the Mexican Border. |
