[War Department letterhead] WASHINGTON, August 8, 1917. Memorandum for Special Orders No. 183} Par. 75 By direction of the President, Col. Frank M. Rumbold, First Field Artillery, Missouri National Guard, is relieved from duty in the office of the Chief of the Militia Bureau, to take effect August 9, 1917, and will then proceed to join his regiment. The travel directed is necessary in the military service. By order of the Secretary of War. Tasker H. Bliss, Major General, Acting Chief of Staff. Official: H.P. McCain. The Adjutant General. Description Memorandum for special orders No. 183 issued by Major General Tasker H. Bliss, stating that Colonel Frank M. Rumbold was relieved from his duty at the Militia Bureau and assigned to join the 1st Missouri Field Artillery. Frank Meeker Rumbold served as Colonel of the 128th Field Artillery during World War I. He later served as Adjutant General of Missouri from 1925 to 1927.
