A.P.O. France 743 12-26-[1918]. My dear Colonel, I have just received your letter and I hasten to reply and say that I will comply with your wish in [ms illegible: 1 wd] and letter and from the conversation amongst the D.O.

[page 2] Buchanan is a Captain in command of Battery A. Goodyear is a Captain, Adj of 1st Bn. Major Rumsey is back and is surplus major on Hdqrs. Malonee is back as is Thomas & Zumwalt having been gassed. I guess Ted S. and I have too much gas already and cant get anymore. Gheen is a Capt, Adj 2nd Bn. Lts Wells & King are back from school, as instructors.

[page 4] it looks toward a move in the near future. The spirit and conduct of the men is fine having received two mentions from the division commander for their splendid conduct while in leave areas. On [November] 11, we were supporting the 81st Div in a drive in the Verdun sector and we missed our 35th doughboys because the 81st didnt go anyplace. We threw more amm. over for them than we had done before but to no good.
