troops and each batallion and the Headquarters are putting on little shows, we have had one show each & it would surprise you to see how well the men do, possibly we appreciate it more than some outsider would, but I think they deserve a good bit of credit for their efforts and do everything I can to help make it a success. For Christmas we are going to consolidate the three shows and have one long performance. Horace told me today that the Colonel was at Bordeaux, its useless to try and tell you how we have missed him and wanted him with us when we have been really up against a tough proposition and we had a few. I do hope it will be so that he can be assigned back to the Regiment and take us to St Louis, but I know if he isn

Rumbold, thanking her for the Christmas letter and informing her how much the regiment missed Colonel Rumbold while he was in the hospital. Frank Meeker Rumbold served as Colonel of the 128th Field Artillery during World War I. He later served as Adjutant General of Missouri from 1925 to 1927. |
