[WAR DEPARTMENT, letterhead] SPECIAL ORDERS, No. 87.} Washington, April 16, 1917. Extract. 30. By direction of the President, and under the provisions of section 81 of an act of Congress approved June 3, 1916, Lieut. Col. Frank M. Rumbold, 3d Infantry, Missouri National Guard, is assigned to duty in the Militia Bureau as assistant to the chief of that bureau for a term of four years. Lieutenant Colonel Rumbold will repair to this city and report for duty accordingly. The travel directed is necessary in the military service. [2569065, A. G. O.] BY ORDER OF THE SECRETARY OF WAR: H. Description Special orders by order of the Secretary of War stating that Lieutenant Colonel Frank M. Rumbold was assigned to the Militia Bureau and was to report immediately. Frank Meeker Rumbold served as Colonel of the 128th Field Artillery during World War I. He later served as Adjutant General of Missouri from 1925 to 1927.
