August 6, 1917. From: Colonel F.M.Rumbold, 1st [Missouri] F.A., National Guard. To: The Adjutant General of the Army. Subject: Return to duty. My regiment, the First Missouri Field Artillery, having been drafted into Federal service, I hereby request that I be relieved from duty on August 9, 1917, in the Militia Bureau, where I am at present on duty in accordance with Paragraph 30, Special Orders No.87, War Department, April 16, 1917, and returned to duty with my regiment. Description Letter from Colonel Frank M. Rumbold to the Adjutant General of the Army requesting that he be moved from the Militia Bureau and allowed to join his regiment, the 1st Missouri Field Artillery. Frank Meeker Rumbold served as Colonel of the 128th Field Artillery during World War I. He later served as Adjutant General of Missouri from 1925 to 1927.
