[American Expeditionary Forces letterhead] Office Chief of Artillery December 19, 1918. My dear Colonel Rumbold: Reference your personal letter of December 11th, the official communication to which you refer was forwarded to the Adjutant General, A.E.F., on December 16th by third indorsement (copy herewith). After receipt of your personal letter I referred this date the whole question of your reassignment to your old regiment to the Brigade Commander for his recommendation, in view of the fact that Colonel Taylor had been regularly assigned to the command of the regiment after you were relieved therefrom.
