November 22, 1918 Dear Mrs. Rumbold, - Even though the fighting is all over one seems not too have much more time or opportunity for writing. The regiment is beginning to look something like the same old 128th again now that our officers and men are returning from the hospitals. Maj. Rumsey returned a few days ago and now when the Colonel gets back we will have the old original family pretty well together. We all feel sure that Colonel Rumbold will be with us before we leave France even though we get some R.A. Colonel temporarily. We have been on a giant sector just east of Verdun since October 15th and are still there. We were engaged the day of the armistice but they took all the other troops away and left us out here in our positions. We

| Description | This letter written to Mrs. Rumbold, the wife of Colonel Frank M. Rumbold. The author, Dan Jones, informed Mrs. Rumbold of her husbands health in the hospital. He also thanks her for all her work and the work of all American women. Frank Meeker Rumbold served as Colonel of the 128th Field Artillery during World War I. He later served as Adjutant General of Missouri from 1925 to 1927. |
