(Please excuse bad writing. Hope you can read it) St. Louis [Missouri], Thursday [February] 27, 1919 Dear Brother: Received the two letters and the Handkercheif you Sent and also the two papers which you sent [George]. They all came in two day. I have not read the paper yet but will when I get time. The Hand Kercheif is very pretty and will keep it for rememberance of France. [George] you said in the letter you also sent 1 pillow top which I did not received yet But I guess will come soon. (I have it now) When ever Norman hear the mail man call our name he say a letter from uncle george in France. We showed him your tent on the postal card which you sent and one day Norma came over and he said look at uncle georges hospital Norma Well we sure had to laugh. He is getting to be some talking machine. I never get lonesome now. He knows what is good to eat and what is not. We had four different kind of weather this morning. When I got up at 6 bells it was so windy I thought the house was going to blow over, then it start to rain a while and then that turned into hail, when that stop it started to snow and now the sun is

papa sure was crably I guess old age is taking effect. Him and Elsie sure do have there times We all get crably at some time. Marie is getting along fine. By the time you get home she will be crawling on the floor. She is a little heavier and longer than Norman was at her age. I think she will be a big girl. she will be three month the 8th of March. How the time does fly. I started to write this letter Thursday evening but did not get it finish so I will finish now Today being [Saturday] afternoon. Well to start with Katie stopped in this morning to bring Mrs. Karner some eggs and she was saying that they received the box O.K. with our prettys in. She said their was two pretty aprons and a scarg for Mamma and a very pretty pillow top for me which I will thank you very much for all though I did not see it as yet. We are going out home this afternoon When we all get our [Saturday] bath. To-night we are going up to church they have a country store. I dont think Mamma is going and the men folks. Mamma is going to keep Marie and we are going to take

Norman along in the wagon. I guess you heard about the wagon [George] made. We sure have a picnic with Norman and he dont want to get out. He says it is his machine. He gets in and out by him self. Katie was saying when she was going down to the car this morning she met Ernie Kieffer He is here on a five day furlough. They did not expect him home until next week. I was teasing Katie a little and ask her if Ernie came home to announce their engagment. she said I was crazy I guess you heard about the cedar chest she got for her birth-day and she is very busy making pretty thing. Hope box in other words. Elsie has a hope drawer but she said it was hopeless. I guess you remember the wash stand, well thats her hope drawer. Well I guess I will ring off as I must hurry up and get the children wash and dress so we get out home for supper. Thanking you again for my Hand Kerchief and pillow top. Elsie was saying you wanted to know what to sent [George] and papa. [George] said you should sent him a sample of a French girl. That all. Hoping you are well and hurry home Loving sis Marie.
