St. Louis [Missouri] [April 8, 1919] Dear George: - Its been a long time since weve received a letter from but receved three cards last week. Of course we never received enough mail as usual. Hows

come here. We have put in so much grass if it dont rain it wont do any good. Beleive me [George] & I had some job yesterday. We dug dandelions out of the lawn until our knees were stiff. I suppose we dug a couple bushel. Then after we were finished we sod the front strip on the sidewalk we didnt get through until after seven, and today I can hardly move so stiff. [George] had the wheelborrow and I had normans wagon we went way in back of [George] Bomans. So Dad has his jobs concreting. He never will get finished doing that. Norman helps dig. Well George I hope you are still well and happy. We are all fine Dont you think it is soon time you were sailing. [Theodore] Schneider came, from France yesterday. He surprised his folks. The didnt expect him until Easter. Ralph R. Sailed for U.S. [March] 24, and I guess he will be here around Easter. Do you think you will surprise us soon? If you stay away much longer we

wont know what you look like. Tomorrow little Marie will be four mo. old She sits by herself a little and is getting big & fat and has the same Quaker Oats smile as Norman. Of course she hasnt any crop on her head at all. I suppose they all take after Uncle [George] How about it! Have you any left? We sure got a good picture of you from P.J. Mother wrote to you last week. [George] if you ever think of it write to Koerners as they always inquire about you. Mr. Koerner has been home sick over four months. and look very bad you wouldnt know
