MARINE GUARDS Sunny France [Friday] [February] 21st 1919 Dear Sister! Raining to beat all just as usual, so theres nothing for me to do but loaf around the Barracks. I received your letter of the 20th also Krieger of the 21st. She writes of her visit out to the Heights and of receiving one of my pictures

You ask about the French girls, well theres some cookies here, but believe me nothing compared to our own angels, and when our girls leave Europe, they will leave behind, the fact that there are no more nobler women in the world than they. I am feeling good but have not taken on any more flesh, but am toughend up quite a bit. Hope the time comes soon when I will be silkend down again by man. I suppose you have had many a scary night. Dad being to work and Kate at Maries, still you have the geese with you, who it is said are very good at the watching game. Am glad to note that some one I know is getting to see home again, but as for a being discouraged
