[American Y.M.C.A. letterhead] A.P.O. 701 - [February] 2nd 1919 Dear Sis! It is 730 P.M. and I am killing time and awaiting 9 P.M. the hour for me to go on watch ending at 1 A.M. My Post tonight is an interesting one. I have the pleasure of sitting in the hold of a ship guarding about 25,000 German Helmets of all descriptions. There are some beauties among them. There are some that are highly nickel plated with the German Eagle on front and the usual spike on top, these I beleive

What is to be done with them and where they came from is beyond me. Gen. Pershing was down to inspect us to-day. He said we were a good looking bunch of wops. It was some cold during the ceremonies but we managed to put up a good
