A Christmas card from Christine dated [December] 5th and still another letter from Elsie dated [January] 10th. I am sending them home under seperate cover. I also received your very interesting letter of June 16th which I understand word for word. I was pleased to note that you are in good health and happy. Yes, I can hardly realize myself, that it has been a year since I left home, but it will not be another before I return. I am glad.

[page 2] [Knights of Columbus letterhead] you are saving all postals letters and papers I send home. I believe they will be very intersting to read in time to come. You ask that I have a good picture made of my self, well I will do the best I can, send it home, and if you think it worth while, you can have it enlarged. Letters are coming in from all parts of the States complaining of the excessive heat, which you are getting your share of in St. Louis We cannot complain of the heat here, it never gets much warmer than 80, but we get an ocean breeze that causes trouble in the way of colds.

[page 3] [Knights of Columbus letterhead] Too bad about you and the Ford Therometer, I am glad you survived the lecture. I thought I was keeping all mail home regulated, and sending all some in their turn, but according to yours of the 16th Elsie has been forgotten. Poor Elsie. I will never let it happen again, I am going to flood her so bad with mail that she will have to hire a correspondence secretary to do all the answering. I am still in prime health, and still getting fed chicken, rocky mountain goat and black paint. As to coming home we know nothing. Peace being signed should rush matters some
