[Knights of Columbus letterhead] Hampton Roads August 12th 1919 Dear Mother! Have just received my final pay from the Marine Corps and took the liberty to come here to write you a few lines which I think will be the last while in the service. We have had our final physical examination and turned in all equipment but blankets. Tonight we will buy our R.R. tickets and tomorrow sometime we will be given our discharge then its (Home, Boys, Home!) I am going to send you a wire from some where near St Louis to give you an idea what time I will reach home I think it will be sometime Friday night, so dont forget those (roll-a-ten)
