[American Y.M.C.A. letterhead] St. Nazaire [June 9, 1919] Sis Kate! Your most interesting letter of May 25th received this p.m. I like the way you wrote that particular letter, though it was of but four sides it contained many items of interest to me. You tickle me in expecting an auto of our own when I return. Never on what they pay in the A.E.F. I did not go to Paris as I had anticipated, but expect to next month. About 110,000 men sailed from here during May which is considered a record among the A.T.S. I suppose the old Gent was in his glory when at the F. Banquet.

[American Y.M.C.A. letterhead] I have receive pictures and carton some time ago. How is the Bolsheviki craze in St. Louis. Seems to have invaded every large town in the States. Read Sam Gompers article on prohibition in a P.D. paper and thought he had the right idea. Well Kate news is scarce and so is my ambition to day. I feel as though I had no sleep for a week. The weather has to do with that, it is very hot here. Good luck to all and keep up spirits Ha! Ha! Lovingly George.
