[page 2] [American Y.M.C.A. letterhead] an old Castle said to be some nine hundred years old, once the former home of some King. Then of the Mother of Napoleon, and now the property of the ex Crown Prince of Greece who is having it altered so as to live in it. It is a musty old place and has a town at one end about the height of the Water Tower on E. Grand Ave. The gardens about the castle are beautiful and all trees are arranged in perfect order. There were many other scenes of interest which are too numerous to mention We got back to the

[page 3] [American Y.M.C.A. letterhead] We caught our train at 8 P.M and rode on to Rennes were we had hot chocolate, and cookies at the Y.M.C.A. free of charge. It was 1230 A.M. when we arrived at Rennes, so we had to lay around untill 5 A.M to catch another train for St. Malo. We slept under some tables at the

[page 4] [American Y.M.C.A. letterhead] oh yes I forgot to mention stopping at [Dol-de-Bretagner], a small town halfway between Rennes and St Malo. We changed engines there, also had some cherry brandy which the frenchman says was twenty two years old. I think drinking too much of it is what makes him shoot the breeze. Well its getting around meal time, and not costing any thing make it a foolish piece of business to miss out on it. After that it will be promenading along the Beach and then to a bed which comes up to my waist in feathers. Its going to bet the first time in ten months that I slept on feathers. I am afraid I can

[page 5] [American Y.M.C.A. letterhead] grab something for a pillow and sleep on the floor. It is said that it is about a hard to get back to feathers as it was to get away from them. Will write to Marie sometime this week. All mail from home will be held at the Co. office untill our return. I want to thank all again for the box of sweets I received a few days ago. Well heres hoping all is well at home and that some one blows up all R.R. tracks between here and Nazaire I am as ever Your Son George.
