will begin soon again to push the Huns back. Hope that you wont wear yourself out getting ready. It did not take any of the Drs. wives three days to get ready who have come since Icame. Two of them have two children each. you go to too much trouble getting ready. It isn’t necessary for others get along without it, and you are always worn out when you are ready to go anywhere. It is no fun for an officer to walk along the streets of [Des Moines] for one has to keep the right Arm going. Have learned to carry every thing in my left hand. I understand now why soldiers never carry an Umbrella. Is Bob going to stay on the farm this winter? Wish that you would get Nira or Billie to bring a book on Diseases of Children I loaned them, in the first time they are out there. Am afraid that it will get lost. They have a very nice parlor Car on the Chicago Gr. Western train or did on the train that I came on. Love to Nira and the rest of the family. Just lots of love for my two. Devotedly. Everett
