just Came on train as Idid not Care to pay $5.00 for taxi alone. This morning have nothing special on hand so that is why Iam finding time towrite you this letter. Lt. Neumann Came in this morning, went to Camp Beauregard with troops, says it was hot there and lots of sickness. Hope that you had a good nights rest am so sorry about the apt. being on the ground floor. Itold Mr. Walker when Ilooked at it that that was my objection to it, but he argued that it was alright there, and that there were people on either side, but Iam afraid that you did not get enough rest at night while here, am glad that you Came anyway

[Page 2] but had Iknow that things were going to be as they were would have had you postpone trip. If things should develop so that Ihad to leave soon, think even under the adverse Conditions that you will alsobe glad that you Came. This is a beautiful day and hope it is there. Be sure andwrite me when you get home as Iwant to Know of your safe arrival. I certainly hated to see you leave, but under the Existing Conditions presume that it was best. Will at least try to persuade Myself so. You see the dust when you look through the window of my apartment. More wind and more dust than when

you were out here. It is a good thing army Men do not wear white shirts collars Etc. Dont forget to tell me how Marian enjoyed the upper berth. This was another experience for her. Ithink the trip will be worth Considerable toher and as it turned out she did not lose much time from school. This Epidemic is seemingly going much as it came here. All at once. of course it will be sometime before the Pnemonia is a thing of the past. Am anxious to see the next move of Germany on the Chess board. Do not think she could Mistake Wilson’s Meaning. Besure andwrite Me as soon as you get home. With love to all and oodles for yourself as ever your Devoted Everett.
