[American Y. M. C. A. letterhead] 10:00 a.m. Friday [November] 29, 1918 My Darling Wife:- This is a beautiful morning but cold out. Snow and Ice cicles are plentiful this morning. Not melting much yet even in the sun. Had one call last night about ten before I went to bed and did not have to get up at all. Think this is my last O. D. at least hope so. Am going to send Dr. B’s letter today as I answered it yesterday. Do not keep it, I am through with it. Expect to go and hear Anna Case tonight. Capt. Dates daughter sang at the [Y. M. C. A.] near us yesterday afternoon. I did not hear her as I took care of the Infirmary and let Capt. Little go as his wife was here. Have not heard any comments,

think she is a contralto. Mr. Bolick played her accompaniment. Gave you a boost I understood. Does not look for me to get away for several weeks yet. These men here do not seem to think it at all Essential for us to go home. If the Flu gets worse there I might get some one of the Doctor to get the rest of them to sign a request for my return [ms illegible: 1 wd] the Surgeon General. They really have a lot more Medical Officers than they need more here now but it is hard to make them see it. We have had over 400 go through today for discharge. Tomorrow is payday. Get our checks and pay our board. Do not think I will have any more clothes to buy before I come home. Lots of Love [written vertically on the page] Devotely Everett
