[The Chamberlain European Plan letterhead] 6:50 P. M. Des Moines [December] 19, 1918. My Darling Girl:- Am in town and am just going to write a line to let you know that I am back in [Camp Dodge]. and so far get No Encouragement about getting out soon. All seemed mighty to see me last night. I got in at 12 last night and did not get to sleep until one. Was like the lost sheep had returned. Several of them come in after I was in bed. Lt. him now. Will write a real letter tomorow. Had a bad headache today. Will send you a couple Kodaks tomorrow. Maj: D. was very pleasant but do not think he is going to assist me to get out. Will write you later. Have not done anything so far today. Just losts of love. Got a letter today but think there are some missing. None with check. Did not get any yesterday. Got Presses. By Bye.
