December 6, 1917 Dearest Mother, In a few days we expect to go into action again but this time on a quiet sector. I rather like the idea of going in again before spring though I hate to leave these comfortable quarters with winter coming on. Our lieutenant met Rex the other day and from him I find that Rex is working in the construction dept. of aviation. His address is Construction Dept. U.S. Aviation Corps 45 Ave. Montaigne, Paris, France I haven't heard directly from him. I intend to write him and find out just what he is doing and his plans

for the future. My ten day permission comes sometime in January. I expect to spend a day coming and going in Paris and the rest of the time somewhere in Southern France. I want to go someplace, have a good time and forget winter and the war.I still get very little mail and all that comes is pretty old (about six weeks) Write me a lot.
