Peters, William Collection
William Peters was the city photographer for St. Louis from 1916-1920. Under the leadership of Mayor Henry Kiel, Peters took photographs throughout St. Louis and collected memorabilia related to home front activities. This collection contains a scrapbook of over 100 photographs of preparedness parades, Missouri soldiers and sailors, African Americans registering for the draft, and various end of war celebrations. The scrapbook also features a variety of ephemera including post cards, draft cards, Liberty Bond tags and buttons, thrift savings cards, newspaper clippings, Red Cross donation cards, and pins.
