March 6th., 1918 Dear Frank:- I was never more surprised. I supposed there was a perfect understanding and not only this but the deepest and most binding mutual sympathy between you and Phil and Kate in the development of your present plans. I am seriously disappointed and distressed to note the cross purposes revealed in this correspondence. Go to Chicago to see Garner and wire Phil to meet you there and come to an understanding with both. If this is not done there is serious trouble ahead and Kate
