February 22nd., 1918. Dear Frank:- Your note of the 17th, at hand. Surprised to find you in Gotham. Just the very place for you at this time. Wish only I could be there with you, I am sure that with your clear understanding and your great organizing capacity you will be able to start something worth while. I see not reason why you should encounter any opposition from national headquarters as intimated in your letter. There is every reason why you should be backed up in every effort you make to get action in behalf of Kate and the rest of the indicted, convicted and imprisoned comrades. Command me in anyway I can possibly help you. I am with you heart and soul in behalf of all these comrades. Your always, E.V. Debs
