| Description | <p>Personnel record files for Ray T. Williams containing letters and correspondence concerning his Distinguished Service Cross award. Williams served in the Headquarters Company of the 4th Infantry, 3rd Division. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross award for heroism in action near Grand Ballois Farm in France on July 15, 1918. Williams later died on October 10, 1918 of the mustard gas wounds he received in July. His Service Cross was presented to his wife Elfie of Osgood, Missouri.</p> |
