| Description | <p>Military personnel file for Julia Stimson consisting of her pay cards during her service from 1917-1921. Stimson began her medical career as director of the Washington University Training School for Nurses. When World War I began, she helped coordinate a team of nurses from Washington University to form Base Hospital 21. She served as the chief nurse at Base Hospital 21 and was later awarded the Distinguished Service Medal.</p> |
