Description | <p>Personnel files for Eva Perry Moore contain appointment letters, identification cards, a U.S. Department of Labor personal questions sheet and oath of office and administrative letters of correspondence. Eva Moore was born in Rockford, Illinois on July 24, 1852. Appointed Special Agent for U.S. Immigration in St. Louis, Missouri on October 23, 1916. During her time as Special Agent, she was also President of the National Council of Women. On April 29, 1918, Moore's services as a Special Agent were transferred to the Department of Labor where she was appointed to work in the Employment Service. Though referred to as Eva Perry Moore, on one of the two copies in the collection of Moore's U.S. Department of Labor Personal Question Sheet, she identifies her full name as Mrs. Philip North Moore. Eva Perry is listed as the way she will write her name on payroll.</p> |
