This is the bridge I was guarding at one time. It is called a pontoon bridge, which we will make later on. It is boats with a road bed over them. It was 17 below zero one night when I was on guard. You are not allowed on the bridge without a revolver. This job is alright in summer, but O’ in winter this place in on the other side of Ft. Riley, and every meal you had to walk a mile to get it but it was a meal, I mean, when you got there.
