July 2, 1919 Dear Virginia- I wrote to you a good deal recently, and I hope that you have received those letters. I am still located at Sinzig, Germany, and will in all probability be here until ordered back to the good old U.S.A. We must stay here until the very last and take over all of the horses of the Army of Occup-

ation. Some of the boys in our organization secured 14 days passes to England, and they informed me that the English girls are a great deal like the American girls. The German girls are generally fat, ungainly looking things, utterly lacking in charm, femininity and all of the traits that go to make an attractive girl. Most of them have feet the size

of gunboats, and they get out and work in the fields. I wonder if you are going to summer school at Washington University. I am addressing all of my letters there as you request for I know that they will be forwarded to you. Will write soon again when I can think of any thing to write about. The troops are moving very slowly, out of Germany, mainly I think on account of the lack of transportation
