Ehrenbreitstein Germany [January] 28, 1919 Dear Virginia- I received today your letter of [November] 13th and was glad to hear from you. I am now back with my organization in the Army of Occupation, at Ehrenbreitstein, across from Coblenz [Koblenz] on the Rhine. I am now receiving

mail again, the first for almost two months. I have not written much the last two months, for I have not been getting any mail. We are situated in fairly good quarters which was formerly a German Remount. We drill and do a few hours work each day. We are only about 200 feet from the Rhine, and oftentimes I sit in the Y.M.C.A. window and watch the boats go up and down the river. I was at a replacement camp at Toul during December and I had some difficulty in locating my organization Some of the boys in the company are going to school at night in Coblenz [Koblenz] across the river.

We have a good Y.M.C.A. here in Ehrenbreintstein. My mail is just beginning to arrive. Aday or two ago I received 10 letters and today I received twenty. The German Army is rapidly being demobilized, and the German soldiers immediately get into their civilian uniforms. I was up in the fort here at
