[October] 21 1918 Hello Frank, Received your letter of [September] 29th also [September] 22nd am feeling fine and takeing it quite easy in a very quiet sector of the line. Mother can dispose of my cot but it will not be necessary to replace it with a larger bed or any bed for that matter, it seems like the more I eat the skinnier I get, or possibly Uncle Sam is walking me skinny I have toured most of Northern France and all of Central and Southern France on foot, and some of these hills over here are enough to kill a donky.
