P.C. G/3-#4. Headquarters 28th Division. American Expeditionary Forces. France 20th October, 1918. Daily Operations Report From noon 19 October to noon 20 October, [1918]. I. Hostile Situation at beginning of day. Quiet. II. Information received of enemy during day. Presence of the enemy in the Bois de Dommartin, at Aviation Field near Marimbois Fme., and Maumont verified by our patrols last night. Machine gun nest located at 363.9-244.96, 366.4-343.7, and in steeple at 366.05-244.75. III. Hostile Movements and Conduct during day. (a) Infantry: Usual machine gun and rifle fire. (b) Artillery: Decreased in left sub sector. Right sub sector slight harrassing fire on line of resistance; also on Thiaucourt, Jaulny, Xammes and Benney during the day. (c) Aeronautics: One enemy balloon up northeast of Dommartin at 11 hour. One enemy plane over front line at 8:45 hour. One enemy plane over Bois de Benney at 9:45 hour. (d) Movements: See Intelligence Report. IV. Maps Illustrating the Above. None. V. Own Situation at beginning of day. Unchanged. VI. Own changes, movements and action during day. (a) Infantry: No changes except improvement of some machine gun positions. (b) Artillery: Harrassing fire delivered on enemy sensitive points, working parties and machine gun nests throughout period. (c) Aeronautics: Below normal. (d) Movements: No movements other than improving positions. (d) Work done by Command: General improvement in strengthening of sector. VII. Information received of neighboring units. None. VIII. Orders Received. None. IX. Maps Illustrating above. None. X. Results of Actions, Own and Enemy. None. XI. Maps Illustrating Above. None. XII.
