Somewhere in France July 20th 1918. My Own Dear Little Girl:- Hello "Babe" How are you today? Fine I hope. I am taking a short rest and I sure do need it. If I only had a Bath. Guess I will take one tonight. well Sweetie I had one wonderful trip. Have enjoyed every mile and am not thru yet. It is raining here today. Most of us got good & wet. But we are about dry now. The flower which is in this letter was given me by a sweet little Girl about 7 years old and Blonde headed thats why she was so sweet

And you know I am just longing for one of those good & sweet kisses like the ones I have always been used too, (of yours) can't you send me a few by return mail? Lt. Bailey is sitting here writing Mrs. Bailey. Her address is 2510 - Haste St. Berkely, [California]. I didn't know whether you had her address or not. Well Dearie I think I had better close & take a nap as I havent slept ten hours all together for 2 weeks. so be good and write often. Remember me to mother and all.
