[page 1] July 1, 1918 Dearest Babe Just a few lines as I am over in New York making arrangements to get my Co. Fund “over there”. I sent you a night letter tonight Hope to get an answer tomorrow. your letter which you addressed to Camp Merritt came O.K. But Babe it did not sound just right. Aren't you satified there I will be worried to death if I think they are not treating you right.

[page 2] I love you to much for you to be mistreated and you let me know and if you are get some nice little school Girl & move over to Excelsior or down to Orrick or Better still live with Lizzie. I will make the arrangements with her as soon as you let me know. I expect to sail in 3 or 4 days not official but rumored I am ready, if I can get
