Camp Clark Nevada [Missouri] [August] 17-1917 Dear Girls, We are all set and in fine shape at this camp. Everything went along in fine shape and our Co. arrived in fine feather. But I for see a hot time for your poor fish as the open season for chiggers is on here. My friend Capt Ransaphen is here and does not expect to get out for some time. Tried to get you on the tel last night but could not seem to make connection Severel men want to see me so will write more tonight. Love and lots of it my sweethearts Father
