Ward 15 Dear Miss McGee Will drop you a line to leave you known I have not forgotten your kindness while in France. I landed on the U. S. Grant the second of April. I have been home on a five days furlo. I is put to be transfered to [ms illegible: 1 wd] in about fourteen days my leg has improved very little since I left Vittel. The weather has been beautiful since I have arrived you cannot immagin how much better one feeles after arriving in a country where civilized people lives again.

I do not think they could get me to goe to France again. Now Miss McGee have me know when you come home my Mother would like awfully well to meet you I have told many people how you had treated me after getting away from the Germans. When you write address to Somerset [Pennsylvania] then it will be sent to me from home. Will write you again later after I am operated on how I am getting along. Your Bum, John Lenhart.
