# 80 May 11, 1919 [Saturday] Dear Mother - this eve finds me at the Rochester Hotel where I shall stay for the night in order to catch an early train to Pierre – Fonde (near Soissons). Elegant accomodations – and even though its midnight the writing room which looks out on to the boulevard is so delightful that I shall write a line for I’m not a bit tired. All afternoon I spent at the Grand Palace – the ”Salon” of this year’s art exhibitions and found it simply wonderful. the more I see the more I become impressed with the work realizing what a tremendous field there is ahead. greatly inspiring.

[page 2] during the evening I was with Mme Deldiere (Herbert & I) and we went to a comedy theatre. Excellent music. the atmosphere here seems to become gayer all the time. Now that Spring has at last arrived and good weather set in the gardens & parks have their attractions. tuesday I invited the Dames of the paentheon and passed through the Luxembourg gardens. With their fountains - and neatly dressed children playing about and guidance of the mistresses – it a most charming spot! Best wishes to you all Sincerely George Maguolo Bellevue (Seine et Oise) A.P.O. 702 A E F
