#87 Sarbonne Club Parie June 17 1919 Dear Folks – Am pulling out of Bellevue as the school is fini, ger! but its a funny feeling to again live out of a pack and to bunk in R.R. stations. But really a good thing does not last – and so our school has come to an end. Many were the most happy days. It is with a regret that I think of leaving here – in spite of the enthusiasm of returning home. Have just returned from the midi – country about Nice which is most wonderful. So close to Italy and yet so far! Some day I shall do the faterland in style I hope.

[page 2] Tonight am leaving for Belgium on the Brussels express. great hopes for an interesting journey. And on the 25th of this month should be at Brest – home ward bound soon after. Just what happens on the other side is a blank to me. I am a casual and very likely will be sent to Jefferson Barracks for discharge Be that as it may there are three weeks of hell ahead – for a casual is more S.O.L. than one in an organization. Herbert & Simpson left for Brest last night since the 10 day furlough was not coming to them. they very likely sail ahead of me if not detained at port.

[page 3] I hope you may have discontinued writing by now as I no longer have a “flop”. See Ray L. often, in fact shall go to a matinee with him this afternoon. He is no more anxious to leave than I. there is naught else except to say goodbye and wish my self god speed towards home. If detained in an eastern camp in the States may drop you another line. Expect to see this ex-bum about the middle of July. Sincerely George J. Maguolo. Soon - 4217 N. Market St. [St. Louis]
