New York City [August] 1, 1919 - Dear Folks - Am leaving New York tonight for Pittsburg [Pennsylvania] Needless to say I have to leave as there is so much more to see. Our schedule is as follows: Lv – New York –Lrr Pittsburg [August] 1 – PM [August] 2 AM Lv Pittsburg – Lrr Columbus [August] 3 – PM 900 [August] 3 – PM 10.00 Lv Columbus – Lrr Chicago [August] 4 – PM [August] 5 - AM Lv Chicago – Lrr St. Louis [August] 8 – PM [August] 9 AM. (All traveling done at night doubling up in a Pullman lower berth.) If we should continue to at the good times and see as much architecture as in New York and Boston – the time is well spent.

Living in a uniform given up many advantages and we get by clearly through the comunity plan of [Y.M.C.A.] & [Knights of Columbus] huts – canteens – & plodings. this leaves us only the R.R. as an important expense. the Pancane’s who have shown me around town – send their regards you probably knew of their misfortune which I can tell you more of after my return. Before [August] 9 then I shall send an exact word as to my arrival – don’t begrudge me this trip even though it delays the home coming. Sincerely George J Maguolo
