LANGRES – FRANCE NOVEMBER 24 [1918] FATHER’S LETTER] [small painting of a chateau] Merry Xmas Dear Dad – This is the letter I have promised you and as some of the censorship regulations have been lifted it ought to contain much interesting information. First you will want to know where I am and the places I have visited. A little sheet included in this letter will give you the route of my travels, also those of America so far as I know. Am including a list of dates that you may see the time spent at each place to which my past letters may be suffered. It must be understood that this serves for an outline which I shall fill in when again we meet. From the charts you see that the last I heard from America was from Nantes, while I am now at Langres.

A trip to Italy is also an impossibility. I need not tell you what a restricted life is that of the soldier, you probably know very well by know. Here’s hoping that all at home is running smoothly with a bright year for the shop. Shall probably be home in February. Shall tell you what we have been doing in another letter.
