Magoun, Harold I. Sr. Collection
Harold I. Magoun Sr. attended the American School of Osteopathy (now A.T. Still University) in Kirksville, Mo. before enlisting in the United States Army Ambulance Service during World War I. Magoun served in Ambulance Service #544 and was attached to the French Army on the Western Front. Magoun received the French Croix de Guerre for bravery and a Purple Heart for wounds during the Second Battle of the Marne in July 1918.
