HEADQUARTERS BASE SECTION NO. 5 SERVICES OF SUPPLY, U. S. ARMY POST OFFICE NO. 716 5 January 1919 GENERAL ORDERS No. 5 I. All casuals (officers, army field clerks and enlisted men) upon arrival at Brest, are on duty under the Commanding General, Post of Brest, and except General Officers, will proceed as follows: (1) Register at railroad station at once as directed by the military police. (2) Arrange with the R.T.O. at railroad station about baggage. (3) Report at the railroad station to the troops Movement Officer of his representative who will furnish guides to conduct all casuals to Casual Officer, where further instructions will be given. (4) Officers will be assigned quarters at one of the camps. Field officers may, on request, be permitted to go to hotels. Those granted this privilege will report by telephone to Casual Office their hotel and room number as soon as accommodations have been secured. (5) Any casual or member of a casual detachment who fails to follow the prescribed routine will be considered as absent without leave and his name will be furnished the Provost Marshal at once, with instructions to have him apprehended. II. General officers will register at the railroad station, but may then go directly to a hotel, notifying the Casual Office by telephone at what hotel they are stopping and the room number, as soon as accommodations have been secured. III. The attention of all officers, army field clerks and enlisted men arriving at the Post of Brest is invited to General Orders 3 and 4 Hq. Base Section No. 5, c.s. regarding discipline, salutes and courtesies, police regulations and pass privileges, copies of which are posted on bulleting boards in all casual camps, and at the Casual Office. IV. Casuals will not visit Headquarters, Base Section No. 5, except on written permission from the Casual Office, or Headquarters, Post of Brest.
