Description Dr. Esther E. Leonard wrote this letter to the Chief Surgeon of the Sanitary Corps and stated that she had reported for duty at Base Hospital No. 115 in Vichy, France. Dr. Leonard served as a contract surgeon during World War I at the U.S. Army General Hospital No. 1 in New York City and at an evacuation hospital in Vichy, France.
