Pursuant to telegraphic instructions from headquarters Southern Department, dated July 3, 1916, Major John W. Heavey, 9th Infantry, is appointed mustering officer for the Second Maine Infantry, for the purpose of mustering into the service of the United States such members of that organization as have not yet been so mustered. 2. Under exceptional circumstances, leave of absence for 15 days to take effect September 1, 1916, with the understanding that such leave will not interfere with the compliance by this officer with the provisions of paragraph 48, Special Orders, No. 183, current series, War Department. 3. Under authority contained in radio message dated Headquarters Southern Department, August 20, 1916, Private Paul S. Jones, Company A, Missouri Signal Corps, a patient in the Camp Hospital, Laredo, Texas, having been pronounced fit for duty by the Camp Surgeon, will proceed without unnecessary delay to Fort Sam Houston, Texas, reporting upon arrival to his company commander for duty. The Quartermaster Corps will furnish the necessary transportation. The journey directed is necessary for the public service. 4. Under authority contained in telegram from the War Department, dated August 5, 1916, published in Bulletin No. 23, Southern Department, August 7, 1916, and as directed in paragraphs Nos. 22 and 36, Special Orders No. 209, and paragraph 54, Special Orders, No. 210, current series, Southern Department, the following-named men will proceed without delay, to Nevada, Missouri, and report upon arrival to the commanding officer of the State Mobilization Camp for discharge on account of reasons set forth below: On account of being an employee of the Internal Revenue Service, 6th District of Missouri: Sergeant Hugh Cavanaugh, Company K, 4th Missouri Infantry, (in charge); On account of dependent relatives: Private Thomas F. Branscum, Battery B, 1st Bn., Missouri Field Artillery; Musician Charles Kimble, Headquarters Company, 1st Missouri Infantry; Private Harry C. Crane, Machine Gun Company, 1st Missouri Infantry; Private Peter Schelbert, Machine Gun Company, 2d Missouri Infantry; Private David Ginder, Company F, 2d Missouri Infantry; Private William Loennecke, Company M, 2d Missouri Infantry; Private John S. Cobb, Company B, 3d Missouri Infantry; Private Marlin G. Fox, Company C, 3d Missouri Infantry; Private Phillip M. Harris, Company e, 3d Missouri Infantry; Private Tolbert L. The Quartermaster Corps will furnish the necessary transportation and arrange for issue of travel rations for two (2) days for thirty-four (34) men, and pay each man coffee money at rate of twenty one cents (21) per day, it being impracticable to cook coffee enroute. The journey is necessary for the public service. 5. Under authority contained in telegram from the War Department, dated August 5, 1916, published in Bulletin No. 23, Southern Department, August 7, 1916, and as directed in paragraph 54, Special Orders, No. 210, current series, Southern Department, Private Edward E. Estabrooke, Company E, 2d Maine Infantry, will proceed without unnecessary delay to Fort Williams, Maine, reporting upon arrival to the commanding officer thereat for discharge on account of dependent relatives. The Quartermaster Corps will furnish the necessary transportation and pay commutation of rations for one (1) man for five (5) days, it being impracticable for this soldier to carry rations of any kind.
