Another Chance to Serve To the Teachers and Boys and Girls of America: You and I will agree when I say that the Government knows how much boys and girls can help in the big things it is doing, for I am going to tell you now of a new way in which you are called upon to serve our country. The Red Cross has set aside the week before Christmas as a period in which every American will have a chance to prove loyalty to our country and soldiers by taking out a membership in the American Red Cross. There are twenty-five million members now. By Christmas Eve we want as many Red Cross members as there are loyal Americans. If you are already Red Cross Junior members through your school auxiliary, the Red Cross does not ask you to become members again, but it does ask you to help in the great work of telling others why they should join. There has been arranged a Junior Four Minute Men Contest, similar to those held in many schools for the Liberty Loan and the War Savings Campaigns, through which you can do your share in bringing to your fathers and mothers and friends their chance to prove themselves loyal citizens of a unified country, fighting for one ideal.
