Granges sur Vologne 8-Vosges- [November] 10th 1918. Dear Mr. Koch, Just now I hear from Lieutenant V.R. Wilson and he tells me you were seriously wounded. We are very sorry of that and shall be glad to hear from you as soon as possible.

Have you been told that Lieutenant Wilson was too wounded? He had his left arm amputated and how he is attended at Bordeaux where he thinks remain till the war is over and probably it will be soon. All right! Did you receive the pictures my mother sent you there are about two months?

Description | Letter from Claire Walter to Major Joseph J. Koch. Walker states she hopes his wounds heal soon and provides her address. This collection was compiled by Major Joseph Koch, a St. Louis, Missouri resident who served during the Punitive Expedition into Mexico with the First Missouri Infantry. During World War I, Major Koch was severely wounded in his left leg during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive while serving with the 35th Division, 137th Infantry. |
