Keeley, Mary Paxton Papers
Mary Gentry Paxton Keeley was born on June 2, 1886 in Independence, Missouri. She attended the University of Missouri and became the first female graduate of the University of Missouri, School of Journalism in 1910. Keeley worked for the Kansas City Post from 1910 to 1911. During World War I she served with the Y.M.C.A. Canteen Service in France. Her diary is comprised of her personal thoughts and writings including her daily routines as a canteen worker during the war.
