Houston [Missouri] [April] 16th 1919 My Dear boy the big pictures and a letter dated [March] 23rd come today we was so glad to get them the pictures are so nice I found you alright I am so sorry you hurt your knee how did you do it is it hurting bad I m glad you have plenty to eat Steve is done brakeing corn ground he wants to plant 5 acres this week Papa and Geo. will get done brakeing tomorrow I think they are doing fine with their work its awful cold today guess its Easter

[page 2] Squall Steve is working with his over coat on this is the driest spring we have had for a long time. think we can have plenty of onions and lettuce by the time your come home. we think you will be home in May. I wish I could see you land in U.S. but guess I cant. Bob Meador come home today but Renal will never come I think Fred Gillmore is on the water now. So many of the boys are coming home I am shure glad to see them come Steve went to Cabool

[page 3] Monday he saw Dollie She is well She has got her pictures. the folks at Cabool is alright he was there after furilize for the corn you see he is working with a big anger. they is not many coming to the Jack guess they will later. you colt is looking fine. I dont know much out side of home to tell you about. I guess you wont get many more letters while you are there we are so anxious for you to get home. wish you could be here for Easter we get about 36 eggs a day I have 7 hens setting but
