March 9, 1919 My Dear Dad: - I am here in London and have been here for two days now. Tipton and I are together. We stopped over in Paris for twenty-four hours and certainly had one grand time. Never saw so many things nor had so many experiences in my whole life as I did

those twenty four hours in Paris. It will take years to tell about so you will just have to wait until I can get back. I believe I like London better than any place so far. It is much cleaner in every way than Paris and not so crowded and noisy. I suppose you have been here before, however. I like the idea of not having any street cars around the downtown district. Everything in the way

of traffic is done by motor buses, and it is much neater. I am going over to Dublin tomorrow night and stay for a day or two. If I have time I shall go on up to Scotland for awhile. I have only about eight days here in Great Britian, however. I have been all through the old London Tower. Westminster Abbey and other places. Westminster Abbey is the most wonderful piece of workmanship I have ever seen.

We are stationed in a very nice city in Germany now. It is very old and interesting, the city of Treves. The Armistice convention was held there and General Pershing has a place there although he is very seldom there. I am still billeting officer there and believe me I have a wonderful place. This morning, Tip and I took a stroll down Rotten Row and saw all of the latest styles in English clothes. We sat on the

benches there in Hyde Park and watched the horseback riders for awhile. We know Piccadilly very well now. Regent street is another very nice place. I am staying just a block off Regent Street and not far from Oxford Circus. It is the old home of Admiral Nelson which has been turned into a hotel for American Officers. It is in Cavendish Street.

Believe me I shall be glad to get back, however. According to the schedule we are the first division to leave in June. This ought to put is home some time in July at least. If everything goes well, I really expect to be back in Funston about the first week in July. I am sending some pictures of the tower of London and Westminster, also some of Treves, Germany.
