Trier Germany April 10, 1919. My Dear Dad: - I have been back almost a month now from my leave and I am still thinking of the fine time I had. I certainly wish you were along with me. We shall have to take that trip together sometime. Tipton and I saw London together for a few days and then I decided I would like to see some of Ireland or Scotland. Tipton, however, was having a pretty good time at the tea dances etc in London so he did not care to go. I hiked out alone & crossed the Irish Sea one night & arrived in Dublin early the next morning. I went to the Hotel Gresham in Dublin and happened to meet a young Captain of the American Medical Corp who had served during the whole war with the British army. We were sitting in the lobby talking

about what was the best thing to do when in walked a couple of young Canadian nurses who were also on leave. Of course all of us being strangers in the town we at once made ourselves acquainted with one another and the result was that we travelled all over southern Ireland together and had a rare old time. Those Canadians were sure real sports. I have enclosed some pictures of Blarney Castle which I took. I borrowed the camera from a YMCA man in Cork. There are also some other pictures which I enclosed. It seems as though they are a little ahead of the shipping schedule and we are expecting to leave here about the middle of next month. We are certainly having some wonderful weather here now. It is just like spring back in Missouri. Hope to get up to Coblenz & Cologne before I return. It is wonderful weather to travel in.

I received some pictures of Mother in Florida and also some letters from her. I think it would be best for her to meet me back in K.C. as we will waste no time in the East when we get off the boat. I believe we will be sent right on through to Funston. Of course no one knows just where we will land as yet or what the arrangements are. The more I think about it, the more I am in favor of returning to Princeton and finishing up there. I. O. & I will be in the same class this coming Fall. Give my love to Mother when you write and also to IO & June. Much love to you Burnie.
